The Views of N.W.A. || Perspective

If any of you have seen the movie, Straight Outta Compton there is a scene in the film about how one of their hit songs "Fuck Tha Police" is being censored due to inappropriate conduct dealing with the government and its justice system. At first, they face this problem with rage and anger, wanting to fight the government for silencing their voices. They are upset. I mean, who wouldn't be. Having your voice and opinions taken away from you could possibly be one of the worst things you could do to someone, much more an artist.

Now to any person, being silenced and judged upon what you believe can bring out a lot of negative emotions. But what really makes a person is not so much of the situation they are in, but how they choose to handle it after the fact.

I have no idea if any of you even get what I am trying to say, but my whole point of this Perspective is to explain to you that in life there are going to be people who judge you, hate you, say mean things about you, lie to you, break you, censor you, but it's not so much of them doing that, than how you choose to deal with it.

Just like N.W.A. and when their song was censored and banned from being played, I recently found out that I made quite a bit of noise with my very first blog post. The feedback I was getting was not all what I expected, some of it was negative and almost all of it hurt. I felt anger, rage, and was so upset by the things that I was hearing about it. But someone very dear to me brought this to my attention. They reminded me that how in life, there will always be situations that bring anger and madness, but it's up to you on how you choose to let the hard situations in life affect you. Yeah, I was angry. I was mad. But just like N.W.A., I will not let anyone censor me.

Later on in the scene, you see N.W.A. trying to figure out what to do. Let those who hurt them silence them, or allow their voices to be heard louder than ever. They had an opportunity to make a remarkable difference, possibly even change the world. And I plan on following after their example. They could’ve chosen to stay silent and allow the opinions and views of the government stop them from expressing themselves and how they feel, but they realized that they could make a change in the world and that their voices were being heard.

I made this blog for multiple reasons. One being to express myself and share with all of you what I’ve been through. Yeah, my first blog post did share a very personal experience between both me and someone very dear to me. Whether you know who that other person is or not, shouldn’t stop you from seeing the true point and value of what I shared. I took everything into account when writing that post. I was very careful and took a lot of time on it to make sure that it wasn’t negative or harmful to me or him. I understand it may be awkward for some of you, especially those who know him. But just know, I really truly did take everything into account.

Like I said, I made this blog to express myself and everything I have been through. I’ve experienced a lot within my 17 years on this Earth and if I can use my voice and be seen and help someone, that’s more than I could ever ask for. I made this blog to help anyone, even if it’s just one person, who has gone or is going through anything I’ve been through.

So here I am, writing to you, not letting my voice be silenced and choosing to try to make a difference in the world. This is my blog, and this post is to all the people that are unheard and unseen.
